Our Featured Saturday Night Band
Main Stage - Hawkins Amphiheater
The Fenians
We're
welcoming this fantastic band back to our event
this year for a Saturday night only performance in the amphitheater at
Bartley Ranch. There will be a small admission charge, amount to be
announced later.
Based
out of Orange County, California, The Fenians are an electrifying
Irish musical quintet, as any who saw them the last time they were here
can attest. While offering a mix of their original
creations, and contemporary and traditional songs, their foundation is
decidedly Celtic with complimentary influences of Rock, Folk, Bluegrass,
Jazz, and World music.
If ever there was a band whose members make up a potent body of
music, it is The Fenians. They are
Terry Casey
-
lead vocals and mandolin - the heart,
Nate Light - bass, vocals - the pulse,
Tardu Yegin - whistles, sax, flute - the soul,
Chris Pierce - drums, vocals - the bones, and
Rob Williams - vocals, guitar - the muscle, through their music and
voices represent everyman - sweet and sorrowful; brave and beautiful;
angry and amused.

Featured Friday Night
Main
Stage at the Hawkins Amphitheater
Always popular with audiences, one of our
favorites, Seamus Kennedy returns to our event. Noted for his
humor and storytelling, he also has one of the most clear, beautiful
voices in music.
Originally from Belfast, Northern
Ireland, Seamus has been entertaining audiences all over the United States
for the past 32 years. With a ready wit and a vast store of songs, he
travels from Alaska to Florida, Maryland to California, performing for
audiences which range from Popes and presidents to bartenders and
bricklayers, from college students to kindergartners.
Check out Seamus' web site, then come see
him live at the Reno Celtic Celebration. He will also be performing
Saturday throughout the day. You won't want to be missing him.

Also returning
to the Reno Celtic Celebration is the folk-music duo, Men of Worth,
who are James Keigher (Ireland) and Donnie Macdonald (Scotland).
Both exiles from their homeland, it was through the Celtic music scene in
Southern California that James and Donnie first met, and within a couple
of years a partnership developed that was simultaneously serious and fun
and they teamed in 1986. Geographical changes now find James and
Donnie living in Southern Oregon and Northern California respectively.
Whilst remaining
true to their Gaelic roots, Men of Worth have successfully evolved
as entertainers. Success breeds success, and a natural progression toward
education and travel has sealed the next decade as an exciting and
pioneering era for the versatile duo.
Together Men
of Worth blend their voices with harmony and support their collection
of songs with their varied selection of instruments. They have a very
simple approach to their presentation, and in keeping with tradition,
remain true to the music and story. Their show is a unique combination of
humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads.

Reno Celtic
Celebration welcomes this exciting group to our event for the first time.
But the lads are no strangers to the Celtic scene on the West Coast,
having appeared at many festivals and gatherings.
Born out of the
timeless tradition of Celtic music sessions, Molly’s Revenge is a
band with a genuine affection for the music they play; their enthusiasm
for the music carries over in all their live and recorded performances.
The classic combination of solo instruments such as the Highland bagpipes,
uilleann pipes, whistles, fiddle, and mandolin against a backdrop of
guitar and bouzouki accompaniment, with an occasional rousing chorus song
mixed in, guarantees an enjoyable and memorable listening experience.
Critically
compared to the Battlefield Band and the Bothy Band, this group has all
the power and instrumentation to stand up to that high praise. Visit
their web site, then plan to see the group in action on Saturday or
Sunday.
