Sierra
Highlanders Pipe Band
For 46 years, the
Sierra Highlanders have been Reno's hometown pipe band and for most of
that time, they were the only pipe band in Reno. Comprised of
volunteers, the band is dedicated to serving the local communities,
teaching highland bagpipes and drums and keeping the cultural richness of
our Scottish heritage alive. In addition, they play for many events and
for ceremonies. Band membership is open to all. |

Reno & District
Firefighters Pipe Band
Established in
2003, the Reno & District Firefighters Pipe
Band is also a volunteer organization. An increase in the
popularity of piping and drumming lead many area pipers and drummers to
want to engage in serious amateur-level competition and this band is a
response to that need. This 19-member
Pipe Band practices weekly and is committed to actively performing and
competing in many different Nevada and California venue sites. Band
membership is open to all. |
|
City of Sacramento Pipe Band
Competing for over 17 years,
the City of Sacramento Pipe Band has taken
awards from virtually every competition it attended. The Band competes
in Grade 4 and currently has over 20 playing members. Children and adults
are welcome to become a part of this volunteer, non-profit educational
group. Although the Band's main focus is competing in Scottish games and
events, they perform throughout Northern California for many different
functions and organizational events. |
