2022 Celtic Celebration Festival Cancelled

It is with great regret that the governing board of the Northern Nevada Celtic Celebration announces its cancellation of its 2022 festival scheduled on Saturday, May 21.

After the revelation of unexpected expenses and lack of revenue to support those costs, the board unanimously elected to suspend the festival. The board has also initiated a dissolution plan for their non-profit organization by the end of this year.

The pandemic played a major role in the lack of revenue because the non-profit that manages the festival was unable to sustain itself having overhead costs the past two years without having the event.

This would have been the festival’s 29th annual event, which had occurred at Bartley Ranch for the past 15 years. Prior to then, the festival was held at the Livestock Events Center, Wingfield Park as part of the Artown Festival and Downtown Reno, where it was started as a special event for the old Fitzgerald’s Hotel/Casino celebrating Celtic New Year.

As a way of thanking the community for all of their support over the years, the Northern Nevada Celtic Celebration will co-sponsor a Celtic Concert featuring local The Fire Scottish Band and the Blarney Band in the Reno Brewery District on the same May 21 date. More details will be released.
