Our Mission:

To share Celtic Heritage with our community through entertainment and education.

What is the Northern Nevada Celtic Celebration?

The Reno Celtic Celebration is governed by a board of directors of a 501(c) non profit cultural programming and heritage organization that produces the annual festival. The mission of the organization, Celtic Celebration, Inc., is to “share the Celtic Heritage with the community through entertainment and education.”

The Celtic Celebration was started by the former Fitzgerald’s Casino/Hotel as a Celtic New Year celebration during Samhain (Halloween, the beginning of winter on the Celtic calendar). For several years, it operated at the Reno Livestock Events Center then as a part of Artown during July. In 2007, the festival returned back to the fall and to its current setting of Bartley Ranch Regional Park. Celtic Celebration is presented as a community and family event that is suitable and safe for all ages and sensibilities.

In 2017, the event changed its name from the Reno Celtic Celebration to better represent the region. Another change the board of directors implemented to sustain its growth was to move the festival from its first weekend in October date to an earlier date in the year that would not compete with other local special events or regional Celtic festivals.
