Save The Date: The 2022 Northern Nevada Celtic Celebration To Be Held On May 21, 2022!

After a two-year hiatus, the governing board of the Northern Nevada Celtic Celebration is making preparations to bring our festival back to Bartley Ranch Regional Park.

We are committed to holding an event that will be safe for our patrons and will follow all state and local regulations as we continue to navigate this pandemic.

This Web site will continue to be updated as we get closer to the event in addition to announcements on our Facebook Page so pardon our dust and be sure check back here regularly for updates. As of this post, our vending and clan pages have been updated.

As festival presenters we are saddened to learn of cancellations of nearby Celtic festivals and Scottish games in neighboring Northern California communities. We believe in order for our culture to thrive, there needs to be more events offering a Celtic experience.

As we have mentioned other festival cancellations and our own two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we hope you will consider to donate to our festival’s “Celtic Celebration Survival” GoFundMe Page. We are a 501(c) non profit cultural programming and heritage organization that produces the annual festival. The mission of our organization, Celtic Celebration, Inc., is to “share the Celtic Heritage with the community through entertainment and education.”

The event will feature a mead tasting from 1 to 3 p.m. and a celebration featuring Celtic entertainers and a raffle later in the afternoon. There two options how you can participate in the tasting. The conventional way is to attend in person and to sample from a flight of four mead samples of the 5 oz. glasses. The other option is to purchase a flight of four 5 oz. sealed bottles and participate via Zoom. The latter Zoom option will require you to pick up the bottles in advance. We can make arrangements to deliver the bottles to you and send you the Zoom coordinates prior to the date. The tasting will by conducted by Black Rabbit Mead Co. Will Truce. He will discuss the fermentation and distillation process as well as the various types and flavors. For those are wondering what is mead? In short, mead is honey wine. It’s honey and water fermented by yeast, but it can also be flavored with fruits, spices, grains and/or hops. It’s its own distinct category, somewhere between beer and wine. You’d sip it like a beer, wine, or cider. Tickets for the mead tasting are available through Eventbrite:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/northern-nevada-celtic-celebration-mead-tasting-fundraiser-tickets-162474903811

Proceeds from this event will benefit startup costs for our May 21, 2022 festival next year after a two year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
